Flash for wildlife photography

Hi,

I want to know which flash would be best suited for an N80 body.I

use flash mainly outdoors for w'life and birds.i will be using

the "built in" flash and the external flash together on many

occasions.i want a powerful flash with GN of 110-120+.What are the

draw backs of buying a sunpak 5000af as compared to sb28/26/24...etc

in the nikon line.please comment considering flashlight quality,

compensation,meterability,slave units.Price is an important factor

if not the deciding factor.

I would consider combining the Nikon SB-80DX with the use of the sun.

I agree and forget using the built in together with the SB80.

 

Also, look into the Better Beamer if you are shooting with lenses 300mm or longer. It is an attachment to the flash that projects the flash farther using a fresnel lens and allows you to pick up at least 2 f stops.

I want a powerful flash that does it all. And it's gotta be cheap. That's not asking for much. Ask to see some portfolios with examples of off-camera/slave TTL flash wildlife shots. You might as well get a Vivitar 285.

Ditto for the SB-80DX ...and it is fully compatible with Nikon's DSLRs ...if you ever decide to go that route. Cheers! Rick Gray
