henry_ting2
Has any one seen this rewind crank? Link

Physically its small and functionally it looks better than the one for the MP. Anybody know the source ?
al_kaplan1
It looks like a complete replacement of the original knob.

altaf
I'm more interested in the scrape marks and the stories behind them. That is probably one of the most beautiful leicas that I have ever seen.
stephen_w.
I remember, from Shintaro's site, that he started painting his own cameras as an experiment and the first few didn't wear so well.
lex_jenkins
Ditto, that's one beautiful camera. Bet it's got some stories to tell.

richard_newton2
A friend of mine, Randy Olsen who shoots for National Geo, just told me he had four of these installed on the M2's he uses, at least what he described seems to be the same. A rewind crank that folds into itself within the space of the regular rewind knob on the M2/3. In addition to the unique rewind knob, he installed a motor and rapid load spool on each M2. I believe he had DAG do the work so I would check with DAG.
douglas k.
"Ditto, that's one beautiful camera. Bet it's got some stories to tell." From what I recall reading on Shintaro's site, the story would be: "Some dude scraped off my finish, painted me black, and then chemically removed a bunch of the paint to make me look well-used." Gee, I wonder if it makes better pictures now?
