gabriel_roca
Hello all, I'm thinking of purchasing a 35 Summicron M from a buddy of mine. My question is this: The lens is a Canadian version and has no serial number stamped on the fron of the lens, as with all of my other Leica lenses. Is this a cause for concern as to authenticity? Thanks in advance. -Ed
matt_m__toronto_
probably a good idea there's no sr # stamped on the front of the lens...could really affect image quality and resale value :-)
hadji_singh
The serial number is a bit hidden. Hold the lens like you're looking through the back of it. Look at the aperture ring on the side that's opposite where the F-stops are printed. The serial number should be on the back of the aperture ring. john_chan2
Tell him his selling price is outrageous (with it being a Canadian lens). Then get good with that focal length and proclaim what the rest of us already know... ...there's no difference.
lee_shively
I owned one of those lenses once. It was sweet and I wish I still had it.
