anish
Hello, I recently purchased a Cokin P holder and a couple of Hitech ND grad. I was very excited to use them over this past weekend's backpack trip. However, I noticed that I was having to "stretch" the slots open on the holder to allow the fitler to slide in. The filter is considerably wider than the slot. A bit wider is understandable in order to get a secure fit, but this is to the point where the holder must deform considerably in order to accomodate the filter. this deformation is causing the holder to pop off of the adapter ring and that really made it hard to work with. Anyone have this problem? any recommendations? Can i trip the filters edges? I appreciate your help. Anish
david_bradley1
Hitech makes two sizes of filters: 100mm and 85mm ? The Cokin P system is for 85mm filters. Sounds like you accidentally got the 100mm filters, yes?
Palouse
David is right. Happened to me too-return them for an exchange for the 85mm versions.
charles_sieracki1
Happened to me too. Considered sanding down sides of filters a little. Didn't make enough of a difference. Ended up buying Hitech's filter holder (very expensive) instead of using the Cokin. Cokin's is so cheap I wonder if it would hold up anyway. Still using the Cokin adapter ring. I guess Hitech wants you to buy their holder; That's the only reason I can see for this situation.
