david_drake1
Matt Proulx has put together an excellent guide on the subject of being a photographer's assistant. As a novice assistant, I purchased the book hoping it would provide me with easy answers to a successful new career. What it did do was provide me with good advise and a kick in the butt. Matt's book is the equivalent of getting first hand advise from someone who has done it all. He provides straightforward information on the assistant/photographer relationship, surviving the interview, personal and electrical safety and the right mindset. He also covers a vast array of tricks and tips for all photography fields. Matt's advise is always straight to the point and inspiring. Reading The Photographer's Assistant Handbook has motivated me to get out there and start banging on photographer's doors. stnoonan
I concur with the writer and would add that The Photographer's Assistant Handbook is the most comprehensive book on the subject I've seen.
