walter_mur
I'm having problems with my Power Winder A. I always use it with my A- 1. Suddenly, while I was in the tropical forest, it stopped working. The first time it happened, the red light turned on, so I switched the ON-OFF contact and it began working again. The second time, it just stopped. No lights, no nothing. I changed batteries (also the A- 1 battery), but nothing happened. I'm wondering if it is just a lubrication problem and so, maybe, I just have to open it and lubricate. I'm afraid it is a worst problem. Any comments? Thanks in advance
Rob_L1664876404
Walter, It sounds more like a problem with an electrical contact. The fact that you were able to recover it once by turning the power switch on and off casts suspicion on the power switch itself. Rain forrests are very humid places and the PowerWinder A is not airtight (or water proof). I have rebuilt one of the two that I have for my A-1 and, if you're comfortable with that sort of thing, a good volt/ohm meter will tell you a lot when you get inside. If not, you can probably pick up a replacement for what a technician would charge you to repair it.
