art_haykin
Your best bet is to sell it privately, or use it as leverage in a trade. Dealers have to pay low wholesale "used," because they have to clean it up, stock it, possibly guaranty it, and make a profit.
aaron emanuel litvinoff
ok man. How much should I sell it for privately? to describe the condition is hard - it's certainly not mint - but "used" implies that it has marks all over it. its not shiny, but doesn't have marks on it!! still about 80 quid including manual and lens? douglas_green1
I usually get around $90 selling them on ebay. That's assuming it doesn't have the Canon A-series shutter squeek. If it does, you'd be lucky to get $75 for it.
art_haykin
What you have is a fairly nice little camera, but its day has passed. Checking with e-bay is a good idea, and also check it out on Google.com where you should find several being offered.Buying a used camera is a tricky thing, and I would never buy sight unseen unless I had recourse back to the seller. Selling it in person, man-to-man, means you'll get what the market will bear unless you nail a naive sucker, which, alas, is not uncommon. If it's in good working order, you might consider keeping it as a back-up.
