i was told the reason why my yellostone pictures were flat was

becouse of the smoke and that polarizer filters would take care of

that... the sky was whiteish in the usualy beautifull contrasty

photos my c330 with 80 mm lens. also adding to my troubles was a

missing nut head on the bogen 3021 making the centre post not tight..

most inside pictures seemed ok tho.. but again usually beautifull

photos were flat, im thinking the photo place used low contrast

paper.. ?? film was mixed bag, nps 160 and reala 6x6 import..slide

film is not done yet and will reveal more... film was in the freezer

for a year, but did not have troulbe with this film in spring... if

no polarizer is the problem please tell me where i can buy good used

polarizers.. keh is out of 46 mm polarizers at this time... any

comments welcome. dave ( ps sometimes you just cant get good results

taking pictures a couple times a year.. ))

Polarizers do not cut through smoke, which is made up of solid particles. Polarizers can *slightly* reduce the effect of atmospheric haze (not mist or fog), but their primary purpose is to reduce reflections (which enhances colour saturation) and darken blue skies.
