tcb.photo
I believe it's just a date back, to record the dae and time of exposure on the negative
phule
QD == Quartz Date == an added cost to your camera that == a nice orange blob ruining every shot you take. Not that I'm biased against the QD option or anything. :) I'm sure lots of people love it.
frank uhlig
A few more useless gadgets ... These will mar your film with numbers etc. Stay away from QD backs if you love photography and your pics.
alex_lofquist
If the camera is used for forensics, medical, PJ, or scientific applications, GD has definite advantages. You can turn the feature off if you don't need it.
alex_lofquist
Sorry, that should have been QD!
lyle_gordon
It is also useful on MF cameras that put information around the actual exposed image.
alan_friesen
WHAT!!! You can turn off the QD???? I bought a silver N75 because I thought that you couldn't, and B&H only had regular N75's in silver! Okay, well, I'm going to go beat my head against a wall for a few hours. ronald_duren
The QD back on my F80S records the exposure data (aperture, shutter speed and EV compensation) between the frames for all of my shots. I find this information to be very useful. I've never used the date time imprinting because it prints on the image.
