I get the list in digest form. The last I received was "EOS-Digest V1 #1944" on July 28/03. I've been reading the digest for about 2 years, but I have never posted there. <p>

The list members seem like a nice bunch with good community spirit - if you like it here, you will probably like it there. <p>

The list's site is <a href=http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm>here</a>. <br>

The list <a href=http://members.rogers.com/jul.loke/faq.0.6.2.html>FAQ</a> is well worth the read. <br>

The list's search <a href=http://members.rogers.com/jul.loke/eosfind.html>page</a> is working. <p>

I've tried those Yahoo groups. The people and the conversation may be OK, but the site itself is torture to work through. So far, I've not found a single Yahoo site that's worth the time and effort to muddle through Yahoo.

<p>Besides...I see no need to go there when we have a perfectly good EOS forum here.

I am in agreement with Melissa. I just prefer a daily/semidaily email of the current topics of discussion that a mailing list provides. And, as far as forums go, Photo.net does fine by me.

Since making the Nikon to Canon jump in April, I find the only thing I really miss (except, I will say, having a Canon version of an FE that would accept EF lense (or vice-versa) is Juergen Specht's excellent "D1scussion List".

Hi Robert. <p>

It was long, long ago... well over two years anyway <br>

and I cannot remember the specifics of subscibing. <br>

I do know that I did try a few times to get subscibed though. <p>

There is <a href=http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/genbounc.txt>page</a> that lists reasons why the program may bounce you. <br>

You may want to try setting up a Hotmail account (that is where I read from). <p>

I am almost two months behind in my reading, but I did see a message from early June saying: "Last I heard, he (WJM, the list owner) was still trying to induce his ISP to get the listserver working again to accept subs and unsubs. :-(" So it might not be anything you are doing. I will try to set aside some time to catch up on my list reading (Oh, the sacrifices I make...) to see if there are any further messages on subscription problems. <p>

  • 2 months later...

From: "Willem-Jan Markerink" <w.j.markerink@a1.nl> <br>

Subject: ADMIN NOTE <p>

Good news, at least temporarily, pending a few more structural

changes, after being blocked/frozen for several months because of

huge spam(return/bounce)floods: <p>

Majordomo accepts s_ubscribe/uns_ubscribe commands again. <p>

So the doors of the prison are open again, take your chance....;)) <p>

PS: Murphy dictates that you must s_ubscribe first with your new

account, and uns_ubscribe the old account only after succeeding the

first....you don't want to miss even a single message on the list, do

you?....;)) <p>

For further details see one of these two URL's: <p>

http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm <p>

http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/ir_list.htm <p>

[this message is send to both lists plus several individuals who

enquired by private email] <p>

Bye, <p>

the inability to understand <p>
