robert_turner
Spent some time looking through the archives and googling around... Apparently there *was* a mailing list at http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm but alas it seems to be down as my attempts to subscribe bounced. Thanks! I'm sorry to have to inform you that the message returned below could not be delivered to one or more destinations. For further assistance, please send mail to <postmaster> If you do so, please include this problem report. You can delete your own text from the message returned below. eos 10 fan
I get the list in digest form. The last I received was "EOS-Digest V1 #1944" on July 28/03. I've been reading the digest for about 2 years, but I have never posted there.
The list members seem like a nice bunch with good community spirit - if you like it here, you will probably like it there.
The list's site is here.
The list FAQ is well worth the read.
The list's search page is working.
--
sergey_oboguev
There is plenty of EOS camera groups on groups.yahoo.com: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/eos1v http://groups.yahoo.com/group/eos3 http://groups.yahoo.com/group/eos1d http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PhotoEOS http://groups.yahoo.com/group/canon-eos http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EOS-D60 http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Canon-D60 http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Canon-10D http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Eos-10D and so on and so on. melissa_eiselein
I've tried those Yahoo groups. The people and the conversation may be OK, but the site itself is torture to work through. So far, I've not found a single Yahoo site that's worth the time and effort to muddle through Yahoo.
Besides...I see no need to go there when we have a perfectly good EOS forum here. robert_turner
I am in agreement with Melissa. I just prefer a daily/semidaily email of the current topics of discussion that a mailing list provides. And, as far as forums go, Photo.net does fine by me. Since making the Nikon to Canon jump in April, I find the only thing I really miss (except, I will say, having a Canon version of an FE that would accept EF lense (or vice-versa) is Juergen Specht's excellent "D1scussion List". robert_turner
Dan- how did you get the list in digest form. The subscribe email I try to the list's majordomo bounces. Yes, I can successfully search the archives, and read the FAQ, but that is it.
eos 10 fan
Hi Robert.
It was long, long ago... well over two years anyway
and I cannot remember the specifics of subscibing.
I do know that I did try a few times to get subscibed though.
There is page that lists reasons why the program may bounce you.
You may want to try setting up a Hotmail account (that is where I read from).
I am almost two months behind in my reading, but I did see a message from early June saying: "Last I heard, he (WJM, the list owner) was still trying to induce his ISP to get the listserver working again to accept subs and unsubs. :-(" So it might not be anything you are doing. I will try to set aside some time to catch up on my list reading (Oh, the sacrifices I make...) to see if there are any further messages on subscription problems.
--
carl smith
Anybody want to mail the EOS list and tell them to drop me? I can't get off of it! I emailed the administrator guy from the web page to no avail. :(
