john_fleetwood
After a very pleasant conversation with Gerry Smith, I sent a llf and an elmar 50/3.5 to Kindermann for overhauls. I'll let you know how they turn out. If you are contemplating shipping to Kindermann (Canada) Inc. from the USA, document the dog-doo out of the package, so it won't sit in Windsor, ON for days and days. Don't let the UPS guy leave with your package without finding out everything you need, like I did.
jay_.
Send it USPS Global Priority, not UPS. UPS and FedEx charge an arm and a leg to do the customs thing. In the decription box, write "broken camera: sending for repair and to be returned".
MTC Photography
Fedex is terrible !
They open up even small accesories, like a filter or a subminature caemera lens, then charge brokerage fee
I bought a small lens from Germany for 10 Eur, Fedex charged me C$15 for brokerage, duty, tax ....
Avoid Fedex !
