How to turn the "feet" tripod mounting in my 400/2,8 Mk I...?

Hi,

Would someone give me instructuin how to turn the "feet" of tripod

mounting in my lens: EF 400/2,8 Mk .I

Now it is direct to the back but in my last lens it was better

balanced when the feet was direct to the front of the lens.

Could you say how to do that step by step ?

I imagin you use mid or higher class tripod. I found good way to harden ball head. Put tooth past (or something like that as polishing past for car ) around the ball and spread rotating the ball. Small powder between byte the ball and housing and keep them hard. But his powder rubs and waste, so head life become shorter. I did not try for 3D head.
