mike_herring
I am using a speedotron 800ws unit with m11 heads. The unit may have been out of service for a few years prior to my use. I am experiancing a skin color in my portraits that is yellowish so the subjects look like they have a case of jaundice. I notice no discoloration in the flash tubes. I know its not the printing as I shot test rolls with another lighting system and had them processed and printed at the same time. The other system looked great. Are any of you familiar with this and can lend some suggestions as to a possible solution? <p> Thanks, mike
tim_brown
Do these heads have plastic covers over the flash tube? That's what I would suspect to yellow. DO a test with the cover off. The yellowing might be in the far blue / near UV and not visible to the eye. Next I would suspect a smog film on the reflector. Much less likely is that the flash tube has lost gas pressure. jason_wallace1
Also, you might try using slide film for a truely objective test, especially if there is a human running the analyzer at your lab- we filter out slight shifts all the time, and are very capable of error, too! cheers, JasOn M Wallace
