tom5
I recently bought a Chinon SLR to provide a backup body to my belovedPentax MX. To my suprise, the very inexpensive Chinon has the sameadvanced system to switch off the meter as my M6's do. Simply turnthe meter switch to B. How clever of them (and cost-cutting too)! fredlee70x7
One thing which annoys me is even when I turn off the shutter on M6 TTL by switching to "OFF", the shutter release can still be accidentially triggered. I'd wasted many shots. Wish Leica might upgrade it with a shutter lock, like my other mechanical Contax S2.
john_collier2
Buy a soft release from Tom A. and then hook an o-ring on your camera strap ring. When bagging your camera just stretch the o-ring up and over the soft release and into the gap between the soft release and the shutter release collar. No fuss, no muss and no stretch marks. jay_.
In all my years with Leicas I don't think I've had it fire accidentally in the bag more than a couple times. A few wasted frames in 35 years, big deal. Certainly not nearly as inconvenient as having to remove a rubber o ring every time it comes out of the bag. The shutter lock on the M7 is nice, at least it's a one-finger operation.
fredlee70x7
Jay, yes it happened to me a few times. I usually place the camera on the side with the shutter release pointing upward . Whenever I try to grab the body in Lowepro Nova 1 bag, many times my finger touch and press the shutter. It may happend 1 time out of 10 but still annoying. jyl
Leave your shutter release uncocked and you will not waste film by triggering accidentally.
