Rollei 6006

What is the difference between 6006 Module 1 and Module 2? Secondly,

does the 6006 use HFT or HFT PQ/S as the standard lens for the camera?

Will HFT operate the camera without manual stepdown? Finally, which

flash adapter does it take to make the 6006 TTL and what Metz flash

unit works best with the 6006 in TTL?

Model 2 has provision for multi exposure. That is the main difference. You can use PQ lenses, but the camera was designed for Non-PQ> You can't use the "S" lenses at all. The camera does not support TTL Flash. You will find that the 45 Series or the 60 Series Metz units work fine in auto mode. If you don't mind the size the Quantum Q-Flash is also worth a look

The previous answer is correct but maybe not so specific.

HFT simply refers to the multi-coated optics. All the

lenses that are denoted PQ or PQS are also HFT. If you

see "HFT" without PQ or PQS, it is an older lens that

does not have the capability to signal the body what

its maximum aperture is. So all metering is done by

stopping down the aperture until the amount of light

reaching the sensor is appropriate for the shutter speed

that is set on the body. This is not exactly "manual

stepdown". It is shutter-priority automatic exposure.

It is a bit clumsier/noisier than you might like, since

the exposure setting is observable only by pressing a

button on the body. (PQ or PQS lenses on a 6003 or 6008

do not need this.) Model 2 may have a different viewing

screen and some different internal parts, but the essential

observable difference is the multiple exposure.

I think the SCA356 is needed to hook up the Metz flash units

to this camera, and the 45CL is certainly a nice unit for

most purposes.
