roger krueger
I just got an otherwise quite nice Linhof Color (the Technika-on-a- rail, the first one with the big red plastic knobs), but the front standard-to-rail knob is completely gone, the rear standard looks like it originally had a rail knob on each side, but now only has one, and that one mostly spins freely. Only the rail-to-tripod knob is intact. Since it seems several of these cameras that I've seen online have knob issues I was wondering if there was a source for replacement/salvaged knobs, something else that fit, etc. I'm really trying to avoid going around with automotive tools attached to my camera :)
james_driscoll2
have you tried Marflex in NJ??? They are the Linhof repair people, maybe they can help. I have noticed they seem to always be missing knobs- how is the camera it really is a strange bird- most non-technika linhofs seem to be strange-have you ever seen a Linhof 220??? Hope you get fixed, if not try www.photogizzmo.com- he knows of machinists willing to make small parts for camera
golliegwillie
You might also try the company of the late S K Grimes. They can often make custom machined camera parts. I've got the same fear about my Series III Arca knobs. Lost one in my camera bag a few month's ago and I was in a near panic. http://skgrimes.com/dim/index.htm
