Is it true that Leica has made a new case for the MP which accepts the Leicavit?

Yes, I saw it, but your better off with Luigis.

Yes, but the case has 2 major disadvantages: it impedes the rapid wearing-off of the black finish, thus making it harder to fool others and the owner into believing the owner really uses it to make pictures; and no HCB/DAH/Winogrand et al wannabe would be caught dead using an ERC, which is an instant dead giveaway of amateur status.

I quote Leica, the black paint will only show wear 'after prolonged and intensive use'. So I suppose the inside of the case had better be lined with sandpaper to fulfill Jay's prediction.
