k.e._carter
I have an opportunity to purchase a used Extension Tube 10 to be used with my Hasselblad 501 CM and 80 mm Planar. Could this tube be used for a tight head and shoulders portrait with the 80 planar? I own extension tube 21, but it only allows for focusing much closer than head and shoulders and is more suitable for macro work only. Would extension tube 8 be a better choice? Thanks much for your advice.
jack_byers
I used the extention tube 10 (I think) with an 80mm to take some photos of strawberries and I shot a head shot of my wife for fun. I think using an extention tube for head shot brings you to close to work and you don't get a lot of depth of feild. good luck Jack
friedhelm_achenbach
Divide focal lenght by length of the extension tube and multiply the result by 54 mm to obtain the object size which fits on your negative. In your case 80/10=8 8x54 mm=432 mm (396-432 mm). With the 8 mm tube this would be 540 mm (485-540 mm). Best regards Friedhelm
