john_collier2
According to Lager, the E60 filter size 11134 lenses began at 2 993 701. The E49 filter sized lenses were never actually released to the public. Lager only saw them in pre-production form in 1979 and at Photokina in 1980. He has never seen one since. All production lenses had E60 filter threads. Never-the-less a few E49 lenses are said to be kicking about from the batch of pre-production models produced. jerry_lehrer
Marke Michael Hintlian has alleged that he had one of the 49mm versionsof that lens. He was less than enthusiastic about it, but it's value is strictlyin it's rarity, not it's quality. Jerry
jerry_lehrer
Marke I found out that the 49mm filter models caused vignetting when a polarizer or thick ring filters were used. Leica widened the front of the lens mount so you can use polarizers AND a filter together. Jerry
