jtphoto95nycaol.com
In an old forum message I read that the sb-28 could be used on a nikon & a hasselbad. Can the sb-80 be used on my hasselblad 500cm Is there some website where I can research this if no one really knows?
fotografz
Yes, but you'll need a sync cord and Nikon AS-15 sync terminal mounted to a flash bracket or "dead" shoe on most late model 'blad prism finders. SB80 will then work in Auto or Manual mode only. Be sure to read the manual for the SB80 to shut off the powersaving "sleep" feature or it'll nod off on you and not fire when you shoot the Hasselblad ( enabled cameras wake up the flash the moment you touch any button on the camera, mechanical, non-enabled cameras will not ). ellis_vener_photography
You can also just use a "male to male" PC cord.
hal_bissinger
No problem. Any Nikon flash can be used in manual or auto mode on any camera that can provide a sync connection. This would be a hotshoe with only a center contact or a sync connector with which you would use a sync cord to the flash.
nick_brown3
I use an SB80 on a 503 and I'd recommend using the Paramount cords over the Nikon AS-15 or AS-11 as the connection to the Hasselblad lens with a Nikon screw tip is liable to pop off quite easily. The Paramount cord tips seem to be made stronger and fit better and are less likely to come loose in the heat of the moment. You can customise a cord at the Paramount web site www.paramountcords.com, use a Nikon screw tip for the SB80 end and then a '2 PC' tip for the Hasselblad lens. If you are using the older 'Hasselblad C' lenses they even have a specific tip for that too. All in it would cost about $30 with a 3 foot coiled cord, not cheap for a cord but it isn't going to come loose when you need it secure.
