isaac sibson
http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo? photo_id=1429748
I'd be inclined to say that I'm impressed. 1/80th with 300 F4L IS + 1.4X + 2X TC on D30 (another 1.6X FOV crop). Some chromatic aberration present, but what do you expect really? I'd say it's a passably usable combo.
stephen hazelton
Was that maybe a "moonopod"? : )
andy10
thats an impressive picture.. off course with that condo u have an 1344mm focal length, equal to my meade 152ED.. now the more and more I see your photographs with 300 F4 L IS the more I get tempted to get this lens.. and I am getting inspired that with a little practice I could hold my camera steady with a monopod. I got a gitzo 1564 recently but need to get used to it (difficult when you are very much used to using a tripod). Once again your moon pictures are impressive. jackflesher
Here is a shot taken with that lens and the 2x handheld at 1/125th with some flash fill...

jackflesher
I should have clarified that quail shot was wide open at f8 (f4 plus the 2xII) @ 1/125.
barmijo
These are both very impressive images. The 300mm seems a relative bargain since the next step, to 400mm, tripples the price.

jackflesher
Isaac - -BTW, I meant to include in my post above that your photo of the moon is as good or better than most I have seen out of high-end 8" and larger reflector telescopes -- Nice job!
