_Alex_
Hi All, I'm going to be in Washington DC Mon-Wed. Can anyone tell me where there's a camera shop that stocks Leica gear? Is it near a Metro stop? I'd like to check out a couple of lenses to see how they fit on my M. Also, I should have time to chat on Mon and Tues Evening if anyone out there in DC is interested in meeting. Please respond to the forum and I'll check back frequently. Thanks. furcafe
Penn Camera's Rockville, MD store is the only place I know of that sells Leica stuff. It's not really close to a Metro, although I've done the walk a few times (it's about 20-30 minutes from the Twinbrook station in the suburban, & hence pedestrian-unfriendly, Rockville Pike shopping strip area). If you're going to be in the city itself, I may be free to meet up; just drop me an email & we can exchange schedules, contact info, etc. Have a good trip! dr5 examples
Penn employee here... The Penn in Vienna stocks Leica, but it isn't anywhere near a metro stop. The Springfield store has a single 50mm Summicron new and a used Konica Hexar, and its close to a metro station... Isaac

patricks
Yepp, Pro Photo would be your best bet in DC. Ace Photo out in Sterling, VA (not close to anything...) carries some Leica. I was in there Friday to pick up some stuff and he had at least 2 M7s, a couple of new M6TTLs, a MP, a used M3, M5, and M6. Plus new and used lenses. Cheers,
furcafe
Jati: Yes, it's probably me that you've seen w/the shiny old RFs @ the drum circle on Sundays in Malcolm X/Meridian Hill Park. I think I may have seen you in the park, too (w/a black M4 or M6 perhaps?). I visit practically every other week when the weather's nice (in fact, I was there yesterday!), but rarely see any Leica users there--mostly point & shoots, a few SLRs, & the occasional medium format rig. I have occasionally run into a Leica-using (M2? w/MR) gentleman @ the park; he works (or used to work) @ Penn Camera's 18th St. store, but his name escapes me @ the moment . . . cosmo_genovese
I was in DC a month ago and the Ritz Camera store on 18th & L Street NW carries a wide array of all new Leica bodies, lenses, accessories, and paraphernalia. Take Metro Red Line to Farragut Square at Connecticut & K St NW, take the escalator to L Street level, hang a left (West) onto L Street and go one block til you come to Ritz Camera on the southeast corner of 18th & L.
