bill_carson
Hi Leica Experts: I recently sold a Leitz 135mm-f.4.0 Tele-Elmar via eBay. The lens is in unusually good condition - a real solid Mint. I checked it out 100% prior to shipping and it was AOK. I packed it very carefully -- and adequately. I have been advised that the lens will not "click" in place when mounted on an M mount camera. It will rotate but does not click and becomes disconnedted when the focusing mount is rotated. This is a new one to me and there much be a simple explanation as the shipping box etc. showed no damage. Any ideas as to what might cause such a problem? Thanks for your advice. jay_.
Is the lens being mounted on an M6-M7? If so, the lens-lock guard may be interfering with the mounting of the lens. I had that with one M6 body and my 135 T-E a while back. The cure was to take a scalpel and very slightly increase the angle of bevel where the guard comes up to the lens-mount flange on the body. The guard is plastic and can be cut or filed easily. No other lens was giving a problem--evidently the 135 T-E has a slightly wider diameter flange than others--we're talking tenths of millimeters. I'm not saying that's the answer in your case, but it was my experience.
