beau 1664876222
He's pretty good. His staple seems to be using the heavy burning around the sides to get that strongly vignetted look, a technique that always seems to be combined with that brownish tonality. It can be nice, but he kind of overdoes it in spots, I feel. You know who does that style even better in my opinion is Miguel Mealha; you can find him on photonet. skip_williams
Rob is a regular contributor over on the LUG, where he gets accolades for his photos. Personnaly, I rather like them, and I'll guarantee that they are big sellers with the ladies who likely are the major decision makers on these types of pictures. Look at his site here: www.heymanphoto.com I'm not sure if he's exclusively a Leica-M shooter. Did the French magazine say that?
patricks
Felix et al, Heyman has been mentioned here before. Apparently he is one of the more recognized and awarded photographer in Australia, thus no amateur and happy weekend shooter. Great photos though... djphoto
Rob Heyman was the Australian Portrait Photographer of the Year in 2001. He has a Hasselblad kit and some Canon stuff, but according to numerous e-mail conversations I've had with him, does most of his work with Leicas. djphoto
Don't know why he hangs out on the LUG, though. He's a nice guy. I gave up on that bunch of curmudgeons and misanthrops long ago.
ralph_barker
Excellent work, and I like his style, but I thought all Aussie kids grew in pea pods. ;-)
