ming_chao_hsieh
I bought the lens few months ago and have been having good time with it. However, nightmare comes when I came back from a trip last week. I was surprised to see some vignetting in my images at four corners. After analyzing a bit, it seems it develops when the wide angle is used (28mm in this case) but not on the other end. What happened? Please help...The picture shows you how it looks. Thanks.<div></div>
adam_deglmann
How many filters were you using and what kind were they?
b._kemmerer
Another factor could be that the lens hood that is not scewed in all the way. If you sometimes have vignetting at 2 of the 4 corners (diagnonally opposed) I would take that as a strong indication that the hood is the culprit. Ken Katz
Looks like you stacked 2 filters on the lens. Agree with the poster above that a hood on wrong would cause 2 of the 4 (diagonally opposed) corners to be dark
ming_chao_hsieh
Hi, I did stack the filters, a polarizer on top of an UV. However, I am pretty sure the hood was screwed correctly. So I guess I should have taken off the UV if I want to use polarizer. God, it ruined so many pics of mine........
canon man
My 28-105(the good one) would vinette with just one filter on it at 28mm. I discoveredd this while shooting landscapes with a red filter in Black and White. Oddly enough I also would occassionally get a vinettee in the two top corners occassionally without a filter. Not all the time but occassionaly.
kvh
Had the same problem with mine. But it turned out to be a Hood problem. One filter at a time should be fine.
den_ze
I think the picture looks pretty framed actually. nice. hehe.
d_y
I had a vignetting problem with a "regular" polarizer. But, I do not have this problem when I use Hoya's HMC polarizer - the ultra thin version. The ultra-thin polarizer does not allow you to stack an additional filter on top of it because it does not have threads to do so (of course you can put it on top of another filter).
