emile_de_leon9
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone out there who owns a Focomat enlarger, ever has used it for 4x4/superlide size? I have a 4x4 negative carrier w/glass and want to use a Rollie 4x4 soon in B&W (127 film size) as it is 86% bigger than a 35mm neg. Any tips are welcome. I'm thinking of removing the glass from the carrier as it has some light marks. I think the Focotar will cover the format. It will be nice to have an autofocus for 4x4 without having to get a 2C. Thanks much.
al_kaplan1
The Focotar should cover the negative, but at the extreme corners might not be as sharp as closer to the center. Since you'll most likely be cropping to a rectangle try to center the part of the negative you're printing in relation to the lens.
kaiblanke
Emile, <p> it may be hard to get 127 film, but a 120 film (645) is easily cut to 4x4 slides. That is what I do if I have a centered subject on MF and do not want to spend a fortune on those huge 645 slide frames. Works great and taken the high price of the baby rollei and film into account, may be much cheaper.
