Note: Consider keeping uploads no larger than 1600 pixels on the long side when it matters, and sticking with 1000 pixels when the image feels no pain at that resolution. On data size/compression, try to keep things under 1mb, shooting for 600kb when you can stop there. Note that this includes photos hosted off-site (at Flickr, Photobucket, your own site, etc). New to this thread? The general guidelines for these Wednesday threads are right here: https://www.photo.net/forums/topic/398109-guidelines-for-nikon-forum-wednesday-image-threadsFor now, we're sticking with 1, 2, or 3 images per week as you see fit.

Since photo.net was down most of last week, let's have a head start with Nikon Wednesday this week.

Both images, Nikon 800mm/f6.3 PF lens with Z9 body. It turns out that the moving wings can cast a shadow on the head of the pelicans, such that picking images can be a bit tricky. Having 20 fps helps a lot.

And a friendly reminder, please post no more than three (3) images per weekly thread, except if you need to post additional images in a subsequent post to clarify issues. Or if you have some compelling reason to post more than 3, please specify your reason in your initial post and we can always make an exception.
