tuan_hoang1
Hi all, I am thinking about getting a picture via a printer from 35mm negative film. I saw the ads in pop photo regarding to the scanners with this function. Does anyone have experience in this matter? Thank you in advance for your input. carl smith
Well I am assuming your intended output is via inkjet. Although I'm not sure what your experience in this area is. I'll direct you to <a href="http://www.rit.edu/~cgs2794/scanners.htm">this page</a> and i hope it will help. If you have more specific questions please let us know.<br><br>Things that will help us if you can't decide on your own are how large you want to print, how often you'll be doing large printing and what your budget is. I'd tell you that from my use of way too many scanners to mention, that the Canon FS4000US is one of the best things going for 35mm scanning. But that may be moot if you're not spending that much for example.
irving_thalberg
I use Ritz Camera. If you go to the one I use, just ask for Samuel and say Irving sent you. He gives me a senior discount. GOD BLESS!
paul hart
I second Carl's recommendation of the CanoScan 4000US. The results I get from it, using an Epson printer, almost always improve on the prints I get back from the lab.
gerry_szarek
You also can use your local photo shop to scan, the quality varies greatly between stores. Kodak has the OFoto sight, you send the film in, they scan it (only jpg), then mail the negatives back to you. Gerry
Nowhereman
This is not the best website for advice on digital mattters. There are several yahoo groups that you can find through a web search. As for scanners, it depends how large are the prints that you want to make. The Nikon 4000ED is very good, but the best, and most expensive, are the Imacon FlexTight scanners. Have a look at the Imacon website.
carl smith
I would have to disagree Mitch. You would however be better suited asking this in the Digital Darkroom forum. Many here are very knowledgable in this area. Just make sure you listen to them and not those who have no idea what they're talking about. :)
