JDMvW
As I was browsing over my files I was reminded that my Altix V has a damaged Tempur (an east German version of the Compur, I think) shutter: Is there someone, anywhere, who could fix this one? The Altissa Altix is otherwise such a sweet camera from the Workers' and Peasants' State: Regardless, I thought a few of you might enjoy seeing the thing.
rick_drawbridge
I'm sorry that I can't suggest a source for repair, being on the other side of the planet, but I agree that the Altix deserves some promotion. Some years ago I posted some stuff on the Altix IV, another delightful little camera, along with some background information regarding the marque. m42dave
I haven't found any repair info online for the Altix, though this old thread below has a bit on disassembling the Tempor shutter: Tempor shutter repair? Someone who services Compur shutters might be able to do it, if it's similar. From the photo, I'm assuming it might need a donor camera for parts, if not the entire shutter unit. ralf_j.
The Altix i found at an antique mall near Hearst Castle in 2017. My experience with them has been more or less ok, film advance issues such as uneven framing, ok shutter and and great optics
conrad_hoffman
I don't know if there's any old-school method for repairing blades that have been trashed that badly. Today I'd be thinking along the lines of drawing up the blades in CAD and having a sheet of them photo-etched. Or laser cut. Way expensive here, but not too bad if you find a Chinese vendor. Then you have to make and install pivots and blacken them. Only as a labor of love I'm afraid.
JDMvW
I may end up buying another one that still works. They are out there in the cosmic flea market.
