70-200/4L, 2x Teleconverter, Eos 3 - No mount

I just ordered the teleconverter, and was hoping to use it for a shoot

this weekend. However, I realized that I will probably need to mount

onto a tripod when using the teleconverter, but I forgot to order the

Tripod Collar. I don't think I can get it before this weekend without

paying too much for one. (Our local stores charge way more than a

mail order company.)

Should I be safe mounting this combination with my eos 3 attached to

my bogen 3030 head?

If your going to be shooting wildlife or other subjects wher you can stay miving you can always use the shooters rest. That would be either a home made bean bag(or a sand bag) or I tend to use the crook of my arm a lot ond quite nicely. It works great for target shooting also!

Hahaha Larry! I didn't even think about that. But, I did call around to a couple of my local stores, and none of them carry it. They just special order it from their repair departments.

So, I decided to suck it up and mail order it with two day shipping. I got the black version, so the price should offset the cost of the shipping.

Thanks everyone.

btw, I am not sure exactly what you mean by the shooter's rest. The position I have in mind wouldn't be much more stable... Anybody have a picture?

Thanks, Paul. I might have to try that, I'd be afraid of moving one of the rings in the crook of my arm though.

Anyway, I just ordered the black Tripod Ring and had it shipped two day. So I got it Friday afternoon. Well in time for Saturday morning's shoot.
