Vincent Peri
I have several Nikkor lenses that have stiff focusing. Any ideas on how much it would cost to get them fixed? Since these lenses are around 40 years old, I guess it wouldn't hurt to get them CLA'd.

Sandy Vongries
Rick Riggins used to be a member here, he did good work on a couple of my old Nikon Bodies. You might find out if he is still working, It was 4 or 5 years ago. Edited November 1, 2021 by Sandy Vongries
Vincent Peri
Wotcha got? I have a Micro-Nikkor 55 f/2.8 AIS, a Micro-Nikkor 105 f/2.8 AIS, and a Nikkor 135 f/3.5 AI that is just starting to get stiff. There are at least a dozen more lenses that I haven't used in over a year, so I don't know about them. I suppose I ought to check them LOL. ShunCheung
For those old lenses, you can check Authorized Photo Service in the Chicago area.
m_allegretta
In 2017, one repair cost me $152 to fix Nikkor 105/1.8 AiS stiff focus. No new parts, just CLA, at independent NYC shop.
Matthew Currie
Another possible place to ask is Vermont Camera Works (website under that name, estimates given). They've done a couple of my old lenses which had fungus and the like. Prices vary but seem generally reasonable, and I'm pretty sure they'll come in under the $152 cited above for this kind of job. e.t.a. I say "they" but it's really "he," and he's pretty knowledgeable.
Greg M
I sent an 85mm f1.4 AIS with a pretty darn stiff, uneven focus ring to Midwest Camera Repair earlier this year. It was about $175 all-in, including shipping both ways and came back in like-new, silky-smooth focusing condition.
