conrad_hoffman
When I got my Z6 I didn't use the lens hood because I wasn't willing to apply the amount of force it would have needed to lock it in place. Seems to be a common problem. Found the answer recently. If you look at the inside of the hood, there are two bumps where the cutouts are. They need to deflect and snap over the end of the groove on the lens. With a toothpick or something small, apply the slightest film of plastic-safe grease to the bumps. Just a shine, nothing more. The lens hood should now snap into place with far less force. I used Superlube grease with PTFE, but there are various other suitable lubes. Again, the slightest film and no more.
