Glue

Good old fashioned contact cement has served me well on a number of cameras of varying vintages over the years.

Please don't use superglue. I spent an hour chipping it off my Df when I replaced the rubber on it.

Read that - Thanks. As I do leather work, plenty of contact cement on hand. Had thought of that or carpet tape. Some of the covering replacements come with tape, but cement will probably do a neater job.

Just make sure the rubber bit hasn't got bigger. Mine tend to expand so they no longer fit in the space, but ride up the edges. They need a careful trim and then a contact cement.

Absolutely correct, and likely the cause of the original failure as the edges project and are subject to forces beyond design specification. Essentially, material failure. Thanks again!
