clark_roberts
Hi all, I don't know if this is the right place to ask this but, I have the a mark III which had slight water damage, and on or in the sensor there's a spot. When I had it apart for cleaning (I pulled out all the connector and cleaned all the gold contacts) I did remove the sensor assembly and tried cleaning the spot but it didn't come out so I think it's on the inside and have to remove the AA filter but it seems to be stuck on. So has anyone removed this filter to clean it or is it better to get another body or sensor assembly? The camera does work now and takes great photos and I would like to get this camera even better. Thank you for any help.

clark_roberts
I removed the sensor's three screw's and pop it out. then carefully with a thin blade I removed the AA filter. I cleaned underneath being careful there a sticky like foam surrounding the part and pushed it back together. It came out really good just have to be careful. Hector Javkin
I suspect you'll get aliasing, given that it's only a 10MP sensor covering 28.7x18.7mm. If you can, please post some photos, particularly of regular patterns with a lot of fine lines.
clark_roberts
After I cleaned it I put it back on and reinstalled the sensor assembly it back in the camera, it works as it should.
