eos 10 fan
In all the excitement of the 10D & 17-40 news
nobody's mentioned that Canon has introduced a new entry level body!
http://www.canoneos.com/reb elGII.html
Can't you just feel the... never mind.
--
citizensmith1664875108
Well I'll just go trade in my 1Ds now. :) (except I don't actually own one) Actually you could probably get around 20 of these for a 1Ds. Entertaining thought. You'd never have to worry about having the wrong type of film again. I know its entry level, but it really is pretty low spec. Maybe we should play guess the kit lens that will sell with it. My money is on the 28-90.
jake_ridge
This doesn't really make sense to me. It seems canon is taking a step BACKWARDS with this camera. The Rebel G already had its replacement the Rebel 2000, and now the Ti.
lyle bergman
This also seems weird to me. The GII would complete directly with the Ti (which came out what, a little over a year ago?). I can only guess that Canon saw enough demand for the old Rebel G and decided to update it. I would also assume they would have to price it lower than the Ti. I have a Rebel G, and it is a decent camera for what it is...
d_l1
It makes sense. This camera is meant to compete with Nikon N55 and Minolta Maxxum 4.
peter_langfelder
It's an upgrade (mainly cosmetic, it seems) of EOS 3000, and it should not compete with Rebel Ti.
JosvanEekelen
As far as I can see it's the same camera that is being sold in Europe as the EOS 3000N, which is - as far as I can see - just a revamped EOS-500N. Nice as a low cost back-up body.
NK Guy
It looks worse than a revamped 500N/Rebel G, actually - its low-light AF is 1 EV worse. Still, I guess it doesn't matter to the folks in the malls. They just turn on the popup flash and blast away.
todd_evans
This appears to be the same camera that is being sold in the States as the Rebel XS-N. Best Buy has been the only place I've seen the Rebel XS-N. It's actually a pretty nice looking camera with specs similar to the Rebel G. I've thought about buying one just for fun. jake_ridge
Hey Todd, apparently I was just reading that the XS-N is another N. American designation for the Rebel G / 500N.
