I have not used my M6 for several months and have discovred two problems: 1. only one led for shutter /aperture balance is functionning. Only the left one. 2. The automatic frame counter is blocked on 40 andi am not able to reset it. Is anybody have any idea of what happened or have cause such problems? Thanks for your help appreciated. sal dimarco
Remi, The LED problem sounds like a weak battery. As for the stuck counter..with the base plate on fire ten or tweleve shots and then remove the baseplate. The lubricants would have dried while it was tucked away. jay_.
If changing batteries and removing/reinstalling the baseplate a few times doesn't clear up these problems respectively, a Leica service technician will know exactly what's wrong, and more importantly, will be able to fix them. remi_coignard_friedman
Does it change anything if the base plate is a winder? Rémi
mike_elek
Remi, it shouldn't make any difference. There is a small metal lever in the body near the film takeup spool that releases the frame counter mechanism when the bottom plate/rewinder is removed. It sounds as if the small lever has stuck into position. When the bottom plate/rewinder is removed, it should protrude slightly from the bottom: maybe 1mm or 2mm. It could be something else, of course, but this is what might be the problem.
