Thanks for taking the reins last week, Randy. I was indeed off junketing, this time to the north of England.

<a title="The modern ley line by Howard Stanbury, on Flickr" href=" The modern ley line src="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3875/15195968638_f4bbf5ac74_c.jpg" alt="The modern ley line" width="800" height="534" />
^ This is the view from Mam Tor in the Peak District, with the town of Castleton in the foreground and a rather imposing concrete works in the background on a sort of ley line with a mobile telephone mast on the side of the hill beyond.

<a title="Whitby Abbey by Howard Stanbury, on Flickr" href=" Whitby Abbey src="https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5598/15445553075_d65e167d06_c.jpg" alt="Whitby Abbey" width="525" height="800" />
^ Whitby Abbey is a ruined Benedictine abbey overlooking the North Sea on the East Cliff above Whitby in North Yorkshire.

<a title="Whitby Abbey /pano by Howard Stanbury, on Flickr" href=" Whitby Abbey /pano src="https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5599/15442379111_cec73a587f_c.jpg" alt="Whitby Abbey /pano" width="800" height="535" />
^ This is a montage of six photos stitched together in Photoshop and with correction for verticals etc. done automatically in Camera Raw (hence the imperfections). To complete the artifice I substituted a sky from another picture. And they say the camera never lies!

(All pictures NEX-7 and SEL 18-55)

As ever, please add your selection of pictures taken with Sony/Minolta gear, digital or film, to a maximum of 3 photos.

Howard, the tones in the B&W landscape are amazing. I also enjoyed the color montage. A friend who visited a small town in northern England said it was fairly cool most of the time. He did not take enough winter garb so his visit to the British open became an endurance challenge.
The Nex 3 has a temperature filter so I set it to 5500K and tested it on this leaf. No changes in post except to adjust exposure. Nex 3 1/160 sec; f/7.1; ISO 200 focal length 55mm.

00cs7r-551592084.jpg.13018f82622f6c8dc615d79c64f68cb5.jpg

I love the B&W Whitby Abbey shot Howard, the reflection makes me wonder though whether the friars had a swimming pool to chill out in during those unbearable sunny Yorkshire summers :)

Randy as you've got the Grubbuses covered this week, I'll go for a non-crawly theme this week!
