ricardovaste
Not quite sure what you're asking... But there aren't any other direct options for the a-mount. There are discontinued lenses like the 100/2, 135/2.8 that fill a similar usage. 135/4.5 STF, but very specialist and not really similar in my opinion. If you drop down into a closer working distance the 85/1.4 ZA is an option, likewise the discontinued 85/1.4 Minolta and new Sigma of a similar spec.
kevin_b.2
There is an older 135mm 2.8 Minolta.
But the 1.8 has some pretty rave reviews. You really can't get a much overall better prime lens.
mike_earussi1
From all the lens tests I've seen the Zeiss 135 f1.8 is one of the best. But if you're wanting it primarily for portrait work the the 135 f2.8/4.5t lens is much better.

parv
As everybody knows portraits are taken around f/5.6-f/8, so what is this fuss about low light, hunh?
ricardovaste
LOL, yes, all portraits are taken exactly there :-)
kevin_b.2
the STF lens is also a rockstar lens, super sharp wide open. legendary DOF and bokeh. be aware it is manual focus however.
parvez_rana
It means if I buy this lens. It is not going to help me to get some nice portraits. If we shoot f5.6 to f8.
Then we can use any other lens instead of this one. As far as I know this is a fixed focal length lens.
Therefore, I should buy 70-200mm f/2.8 Telephoto Zoom Lens that is $1799.99. Please guide me.
Thanks all of you.

Thank for the information.
thalamuse
Not exactly germane to the Sony/Minolta mount but since you asked, and just for the fun of it, these lenses come to mind.

Although out of circulation for some time, one comparable lens would be the highly regarded SMC Pentax A*135 f1.8 manual focus lens manufactured ~ 1984-1989. http://www.pentaxforums.com/lensreviews/SMC-Pentax-A-Star-135mm-F1.8-Lens.html Tough to find and super overpriced on the used market. ~ 200mm on APS-C

Using APS-C 1.5X crop factor, the SMC FA 77mm f1.8 Limited series is auto focus (reaches 115mm, short of 135 of course, but getting in the ballpark) and also highly regarded.

SMC A*, F*, FA* 85mm f1.4 lenses also quite good and reach an nearly comparable FL on APS-C. Too bad they are all no longer manufactured, but still notable.

Minolta 85mm - highly regarded, popphoto thought so as well: Lens Test: Minolta 85mm f/1.4G (D) AF | Photography - PopPhoto.com ...

Best,
Nic
