1.

The straps were included with the ever-ready cases, bought separately. The strap rings/plastic insets came with the camera.

Brian is right. Straps came packaged with the ERCs and leatherette lens cases, not cameras.

Of course, some dealers might have thrown in a strap for free, but they didn't come factory-packaged with Nikon film cameras.

 2.

Yes, but depth of field can help a lot,

I guess the same thing can be said about AF inaccuracies in more modern combos. Anyway why get things like the Jupiter-3 and -9 for an LTM camera when you have to stop down to let DOF mask focus errors?

 3.

also pretty certain that my FE and FM came complete with a black strap (AN7B?) packed in the box from new.

Back in those days, the only accessories that came included with Nikon bodies were a round black rubber tripod pad, the white plastic body cap and a bottom-plate protector made of the same material. (I don't consider the triangular D rings to be accessories as you can't attach a strap without them.)

 4.
Actually there was such a camera from Zeiss Ikon Dresden, branded Pentax (formerly Contax) but it was just a prototype. http://zeissikonveb.de/start/technik/patentschau.html

 5.
Soviet LTM lenses use the Contax RF standard which is not compatible with Leica's: http://dantestella.com/technical/compat.html

 6.
In October, I had to return a used Sony lens I bought from B&H for repair (it didn't work on arrival.) Have contacted them 3-4 times via live-chat and e-mail, but never got any progress updates or ETA. They only told me the lens was sent to Sony for repair.

Anyone has a similar experience? How long did you have to wait until you have the lens back? Thanks in advance!

 7.
I upgraded to 1.03 a few months back. No problem so far.

 8.
BTW, turning on or off the "release without lens" function does not help.

 9.
Just received a used one sent from B&H. Looks no different from a new lens and came with everything in the box. However, it only works at 18mm with my NEX 6. It does not focus at other focal lengths, and cannot go longer than about 50mm. I can see through the finder that the distortion is not corrected at some focal lengths by camera, clearly not recognizing the lens. I have cleaned the lens contacts but it doesn't help.

My NEX 6 has the latest 1.03 firmware and works perfectly with the 16-50 and 55-210. When the 18-105 stops working, the camera displays the aperture value "F--", which further confirms poor contact from the lens.

The official Sony repair centre is on the other coast of the continent. If I send it back to B&H, will they repair it? Or is it better to request a refund? Thanks for any advice.

 11.
Recently I saw someone got his Nikon lens jammed and stuck on a Kiev. There's no point not getting a Nikon film body like the FG, considering their current prices.

 12.

Of course! Coma it must certainly be, but I've never seen it so pronounced and I didn't consider that as a possibility.

Well, certain people insist that it is actually SOSA (sagittal oblique spherical aberration.) Whatever you might call it, it's still an eyesore. Those who keep saying the first version 43-86mm Zoom-Nikkor gave all zooms a bad name, obviously haven't seen this one.

Anyway, Itoh Kogaku is still alive and well: http://www.aichi-brand.jp/corporate/type/miscellaneous/itoh-optical-e.html

 13.

Note that the FT3 uses AI lenses, which is sometimes nice.

So does the FT2 for open aperture metering, as long as the lens has a meter coupling prong.

 14.
I have done some research on the Tamron 18-200mm Di III VC, read a few reviews and went to Tamron's websites. I understand that the EOS-M mount version has in-camera correction for vignetting, distortion, etc. Does the NEX 6 have these corrections for the lens as well? Cannot find this info anywhere. (I don't have time to deal with RAW.)

I have the Sony 16-50 and can borrow my wife's 55-210. Is it worthwhile to get the Tamron as an all-in-one? I'm not considering the Sony 16-70 (way overpriced and too much sample variation) or the 18-105mm (don't like the size.) OTOH, I can get a lightly-used Tamron at a good price. Any user opinions please?

 15.

(weirdly) zooms in as you pull the barrel towards you?

I wouldn't call this weird. Nikon manual focus tele-zooms were all like that. Makes for better balancing with the body.
