vancouverphotographer
I'm out here in Vancouver and one of our bigger camera shops, Lens and Shutter, is dropping the Sony line ... I hate to see that happening but I did grab an a700 and a 100mm f2.8 for decent prices from them.
leicaglow
The Best Buy in my little town in Central Oregon has started carrying Sony. My first hands-on look. Man, I love that flash.

ricardovaste
There isn't a store in Miles that stocks anything Sony, other than the standard low end bodies and couple of lenses. I buy everything through the internet, whenever I buy camera equipment anyway. Saves me money too.
starvy
the small independent stores in my town carries sony. one of the shop also sell a lot of second hand gear and are decidedly dodgy. they have twice sold me dud! the bigger chain, jessops carries sony as well but the advisers are not particularly knowledgeable. the big fat guy who is always there on a sunday swears by nikon and would try to point you towards nikon even if you have gone in there looking for camera bags!
vrankin
It's Canon and Nikon DSLRs only, in the few specialty shops in the Des Moines, IA area and they don't want Sony trades.
paul_de_ley
Here in Riverside, CA we're down to only one electronics/camera store with Sony Alphas, from three stores until last year. The local Circuit City and Ritz shut down, now it's only Best Buy (and AFAIK they only carry the A230 and A330). It's probably partly my fault since nearly all my gear was bought online!
robert_paul1
The small local camera stores here in Hawaii don't carry Sony. Best Buy carries the entry level stuff, and Ritz goes up to the A850. I understand that the NEW Ritz is carrying a lot of Sony gear. Guess Sony and David worked out a deal. I thing only Pentax is harder to find in the islands.
arun_gaur
At Panchkula and Chandigarh in India, they don't even know if any A900 exists. However, people do show interest in A200. One picture with A350:

For similar pictures please visit tripolia-indianlandscapeimages.
james_bocchino
There are more than enough electronic stores in my part of NJ. Best Buy, PC Richards, Electronics Expo, 6th Ave. Electronics. But they only carry the Sony A200's and 300's. However, there are two Sony Style stores within driving distance and I'm only about 10 miles away from Manhatten where I can get anything from B&H photo in person instead of mail order.
There are also some small camera stores where I would assume they could order any Sony product you wanted.
tonywild
The camera guy at the FutureShop here in Vernon told me Sony DSLRs are top sellers, especially the so-called 'entry-level' models like the A-230 and A-330. They don't carry much in the way of Sony accessories, though.
navs
Out here in Toronto , Henry's , Blacks Photography and some small stores carry sony stuff, apart from sony style stores. Henry's do carry most of the models and high end lenses carl zeiss and 300 f2.8 stuff, I bought some stuff from Henry's and Sony Style store, Henry's do have online ebay store which sells used Sony gear traded in for upgrade or people who have switched to either cannon or nikon. Sony Style do accept pre orders for lenses and A-900.
robert_paul1
I went into a Ritz Camera, and as I previously noted, they had quite a bit of Sony Alpha gear. It wasn't until I overheard a customer saying to a clerk "too bad you're not carrying Canon anymore", that I noticed that their shelves were nearly bare of Canon.
Apparently, Canon and Ritz have parted ways. Whether this is due to credit problems, or Canon not offering Ritz a good deal, I'm not sure. However, with Canon out of the stores, Ritz will have to depend on Sony to pick up some of the slack.
arun_gaur
Since Sony dSLR are not present in Panchkula, Haryana, India, I sometimes use Minolta 7000. parv
Robert P, is the Ritz shop that you speak of located in Honolulu? There is none around Hilo AFACIT.
robert_paul1
parv., yes, the Ritz is the one at Ala Moana Center. Ritz used to have seven stores in the islands, but is now down to one. I understand it was the top performing store in the district, which included parts of the mainland, under the old Ritz. The store caters to locals and a large tourist market. They could do better if they had more merchandise, of all kinds, on hand. The store people keep having to direct customers to other camera stores.
daniel_p
Calgary, AB
There's trhe future shops and bestbuys here and you can get the 200/300 and a few accessories.
we've also got the sonystyle stores, which is like a bestbuy and futureshop except they only carry sony stuff. One rule with these stores is, don't expect them to know anything about the product beyond what you can read on the box. Also at sonystyle the prices aren't very competitive. When I was buying the 58, I went into saneal first then checked around the corner (was at a mall) went into sonystyle, where the flash was almost $100 more. The person at saneal had a good laugh about how sony was unwilling to price match.

As for camera stores, the 3 big ones are vistek, the camera store, and saneal camera.
http://vistek.ca/
http://www.sanealcamera.com/
http://www.thecamerastore.com/

sofar you can only rent the canon and nikon gear (and pentax lenses at one place)
I would really like to see sony gear like CZs being up rent.
