dcphotography
My friend has a Sony a100 and can't seem to get the camera to show up (to get the images off). She has it on mass storage, tried two different computers. Anything else you need to know to help?
tom_brotherton
The best way is to use a compact flash card reader. They are cheap and connect with a USB connector supplied with them. They are very cheap and more reliable than connecting the camera to a computer. The first time you connect with one a window will pop up asking you to select the default program which you want to use every time you download photos. In the USA they are as cheap as $10.00 and available in every electronics store.
robert_paul1
It would be better to use a card reader, rather than hooking up the camera to the computer. The reason is that if you download directly from the camera and for some reason the camera's power is shut-off, you run the risk of losing the pictures on the memory card.
