7D Battery Pack

Would anyone know where....if I still can....purchase the battery pack for the

7D. Any pointers would be appreciated.

I bought a battery pack for the 7D thinking I was buying the VC-7D Verticle Control Grip. What I bought was simply a battery holder that holds six AA batteries. If that's all you want, you can have mine for what I paid ($35). I suppose it is intended to fit into the VC-7D because the package names the VC-7d Verticle Control Grip.

Don't get the Ep-2 that Dave linked to - that is the external battery pack for the 5600 HS(D) flash only - it won't power the camera. You probably want the VC-7D vertical grip, which is hard to find these days. I believe the Digipower DPS-9000 also works with the 7D, but check before you buy (Note: the DPS-9000 is an external battery ONLY, not a vertical grip).

Start calling local camera shops - you'll probably pay more than you would have from, say, B&H, but retailers do still have suff. I bought a VC-7D in April or so at a local camera shop here in NJ, well after B&H, Adorama, etc. ran out.
