Well, March 31th, is here, and (Konica) Minolta says good-bye to the

photo industry. It was fun while it lasted. There were many good

memories. You'll be missed.

I hope SONY does not long in answering the many questions that

present Minolta users have regarding where they plan to take the A-

mount lens system. I'm looking forward to their presentation of

their DSLRs.

I will give them a few months, until July. If by then they have not made clear announcements of new DSLR models with improved specs, I will not sell my existing Minolta gear but I will build my digital on another platform, either Canon or medium format. No matter what they announce after that will not get me back to Sony, the investment is just too big.

I'm holding my breath for the Sony speach to occur too. I am remaining positive. I don't think Sony will keep their secrets zipped up for to long as there are alot of anxious customers out there in the making and a lot of talk about many good product releases this year. It should be exciting.

Errr they allready made an anouncement a few months back. What you mean is you want some reassurance ;) They've taken over repairs and spares that's quite a big responsibility and shows a lot of commitment. They cannot spend their time reassuring the worriers about the future.

Bill- April 1st, is a Saturday. I would at least allow them the weekend off. Did you expect them to be sitting at their computer in Japan, waiting for one second after midnight, to push the 'enter' key on their keyboard and releasing all the information you want?

I see that KM waste little time hanging the 'Out of Business' sign on their website for the Photo Imaging division. The removed all webpages that had to do with the camera business, other than those that tell you that Sony is taking over the DSLR cameras.

SONY on the other hand, has yet to put their 'Open for Business' sign on their website. I hope they do so soon, as they have customers waiting at the door eager to get in.

It seems to all still be there for the moment (click on any of the 'Products' links on http://ca.konicaminolta.com, you can also go direct to the DiMAGE page at

http://konicaminolta.com/products/consumer/digital_camera/dimage/), albeit with 'discontinued' labels displayed.
And if anyone had wanted an announcement to appear on 1 April, there'd have been no need to manually push any enter keys on a Saturday - that's the magic of computers :o)
