j._bradley_deal
Could using AA Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries damage my flashes in any way? I believe these are compatible with Ni-Cad type. Or, should I just stick with standard alkaline batteries
michael_hohner
There's no problem with NiMH batteries in these flashes.
bill_tuthill
NiMH is the way to go! Due to lower internal resistance, recycling time is faster with NiMH than with alkaline. That means less waiting between shots. Not to mention lower cost. NiCd batteries have no advantages that I can see over NiMH.
matt hedgecoe
I use Ni-Mh rechargables in my 5400HS & 5600HS(D) without any problems. My only regret is that I didn't make the switch sooner! I use Uniross 2500mA batteries in conjunction with the Uniross Sprint fast charger which gives a full charge in under 1 hour as well as allowing you to top-up the charge without any 'memory effect' on the batteries. The recycling times are noticably faster than when using disposable batteries (even the top performers like Duracell and Panasonic). Definitely worth making the switch!
