keithsnyder
I finally got my hands on a Z6, recently being stocked at the local Wal-Mart. The digital zoom was turned off. When I zoomed all the way out, it would not focus either in the viewfinder mode or in the LCD window. Anyone else experience this? I was pretty disappointed because I plan to get one in February or so.

clinton_abe
Keith- From what I've seen of the way Wal*Mart displays cameras, I wouldn't be surprised if the camera was damaged. Some snotty nosed kid can easily yank the lens when it is extended or it could be dropped, etc.
peterblaise
. RTFM - read the factory manual. Was it set in macro mode? I always download the manual from the manufacturer and read it before purchase to help me decide, and I often read as many as 10 different manuals for a variety of gear before buying -- otherwise I'm letting other people make my decisions for me with their advertising promises, rumors, and so on. I also buy with a return priviledge so my first days of hands-on experience allow me to jump ship if I'm unpleasantly surprised. There are TOO many variables for you to make a judgement or for us to help you now. The Konica Minolta DiMage Z6 TTL EVF camera is capable of performing exactly as promised. However, these kinds of cameras are not the main topics at photo.net since they do not have enough swapable parts (differnt lenses, flashes, backs, and so on like the big boy's "real" camera toys!), so you may want to join a dedicated Z-friends group like http://groups.yahoo.com/group/minoltadimagez/ ... to find the help and experience you are after. Let us know how we can help you more. Click! Love and hugs, Peter Blaise peterblaise@yahoo.com http://www.peterblaisephotography.com/
