greg_heil1
What is the modern replacement solution for the XD11 battery? i took it as a backup to my A1 and the battery was too weak to give me an exposure reading. Currently it holds a single large 3v Duracell DL1/3N. How tight is the voltage range spec on these cameras? What substitutions can be made? i recall having paid almost $20 last time and i would like to do better this time;-)
michael_linn
Just get a couple of inexpensive alakline 1.5 volt button cells such as LR-44's or A-76's. The XD-11 has a bridge circuit so it can handle any voltage variations among the alkaline, lithium, and silver oxide cells available.
alvin_wong
How about SR44 batteries (a.k.a. 357 batteries) at less than $2.00 each? These button-sized watch batteries can be found in many drug stores.

shirish
If you end up buying a 100 pack from eBay, better take a LOT of pictures. My set of LR44s was put in several years back and refuse to die! Of course, my XD11 is now resting after some 20 years of hard work - and still in excellent condition! Shirish
Brian
I agree, don't bulk buy if the batteries are just for your XD-11. I got a 10-pack of button cells for about 50c each 3 years ago and I've only got through 6 of them.

My set of LR44s was put in several years back and refuse to die! Thanks all! Have to agree, i pulled the battery, and did my lick and scrub routine on it, and it is good for another 6 months, i reckon;-)
rokkor fan
You are better using the silver oxide SR44 than the alkaline LR44. Reason is that the silver oxide has a much more consistent power release curve, it continues on at the same voltage level before failing quickly. This is opposed to the LR44 which slowly gets weaker and weaker, and may provide erroneous meter readings. Cheers, Antony
douglas_green1
Those Duracell DL1/3N batteries shouldn't cost more than $4-5 a piece. Also, a pair of 1.5V alkalines LR44 or A76 or 1.5V MS76 silver oxides will work fine.
