weatherman
I posted a this one last week, so this one is a kind of follow up: http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00CVto So I decided to check the prices of a new dynax 7 before it is too late as it is discontinued. My old one still seems to work with slow lenses. I found a brand new body with 1 yr. guarantee for 80 GBP!!!! This is an insult to this camera by the way. So there was no reason to get my camera fixed to work with 85mm f1.4. I bought this brand new baby. Even the sound of it is different. It is superb as I expected. My question is my old camera had total 17 aperture steps. This new one(which looks identical) has 25 aperture steps!! What a nice suprise! I checked the custom settings again, no mentioning of aperture precision setting.. So, I'm wondering if minolta has improved + bug fixed the latest bodies. If so where can I find these changes? (Because this one also seems to focus way faster).

alexandre_goy
Hi Ersagun, Maybe you have set the exposure compensation dial to 1/3-step increments instead of 1/2-steps ? Hope this helps. ag
weatherman
Dixons were clearing film bodies. Luck me! I had to buy 24-105 with it but happily did it as I plan to buy digital in the future. 7+lens was 350 pounds. Lens was worth 270 punds seperately! I'll have a look at manual again to see how to set exposure steps.. cheers

brettg
From the manual (had to look it up :-) The aperture and shutter speed change in 1/2 or 1/3 EV increments depending on the position of the exposure compensation dial. There's 2 zeros on the EC dial, one for the 1/2 steps and one for the 1/3 steps...

ic
80 bloody pounds for adynax 7? you gotta be kidding us. That was either violently stolen from an old lady & the guy had a sudden conscience thing going or else it's the aliens that have put some sort of sofisticated chip inside in preparation of taking over the world, so you might be the first host. Take me to your leaders. The latter hypothesis would also explain the apperture settings by the way :).
weatherman
I C, this either shows 1- British economy is going down or, 2- Film is literally dead or, 3- Dixons are going bankrupt!!!!!!!! I asked the salesman how this price is possible(?350), as last year it was over ?700 for the same body+lens. He smiled and said "I can always charge you if you want sir!" Lowest price on the net I saw for this kit is still ~ ?750 I bought several Velvia 50s from Dixons for 90p each!!!! Yeah it happens even here in UK. They are just clearing all film stuff.. I have nothing to do with aliens though ;)
