Hello everyone. My Wed's walk-about was taken early in the am, so the light was very bright and low angled. Some of my often exposed subjects had almost "ink" shadows to my eyes, so I let them go -Zone 1 during exposure. Here is the Hale Krishna portal light taken with the Fed-2 / N-61 combo. UFX400 film in OA & V600 scan. Aloha, Bill

00eJ1x-567230384.jpg.46331498f3c8ed18083e5543f6ad9941.jpg

Later in the pm, I hopped onto the excellent bus system (The Bus $30/year for "us" seniors) and headed to one of the Honolulu farmers market, located several blocks from the next scene. Rick. 'Sorry you're underwhelmed w/ the Retina. It looks like it delivers the goods. I paid alot for mine, but only complaint is the dim focus patch - makes it harder to use quickly - similar issue w/ its big brother Super Ikonta.

Erko, 'Nice sky in the storm shot. The graphitti/mural was excellent. 'Loved the window image of Monroe's face, James Dean.

That's a beautiful, simple image, Wenshu. Yes, Doug, I've never been a great fan of the Retinas, finding them a little cumbersome and hard to handle, the only commendable feature being their compact size when folded. I note I typed "Xenar" rather than the "Xenon" it possesses, so the performance of the lens should be OK. Nice work, once again, from your Hasselblad. I took a walk this morning with the Bronica S2a fitted with the 200mm Nikkor P f/4, just about the most unwieldy piece of kit I own. It looks like a grenade launcher and I get some funny looks from the good citizens of our town. However, it performs quite well; here are three samples, Arista 400 EDU Ultra developed in PMK Pyro.

00eJ3N-567233784.thumb.jpg.dc13cec661d44f13fc15a3d41eabaf24.jpg

Rick,
My first good wedding camera was a Bronica S2A. I had three magazines and the standard 785mm Nikkor-P. I could never fault that camera as far as results went. I got buy with this setup for a few year until a Hasselblad 500C came along. The results were not much better, but the ease of use, flash sync and handling were. Actually the most noticeable thing or difference for me was the noise factor. I'm sure other people noticed it too. The first thing my assistant(my wife actually) said was "wow, that sure is quiet and I wouldn't have known it went off if I didn't see the flash". So, while it might look like a grenade launcher it sounds like a 60mm Mortar round going down the tube. It was and still is a very dependable piece of photo gear and very high quality. I never had one problem with the one I owned and I didn't baby it either. It's long gone, but I do still have a very nice Retina IIa.

I did have Bronica GS-1 , which was taking excellent pictures , but being so large , heavy I sold it .
And I did have also very funny and suspicious looks ...... Now I am looking again for medium format camera and most likely it will be the Fuji gw690 . I am missing the sharpness and the quality in the medium format .
Here are few photos taken with the Bronica .
