pcg
This is from a roll of NPH--normally my favorite portrait film--shot outside on the Salmon River in Fall of last year, M6 w/ 35mm summi (III). Light USM in PS, otherwise no manipulation. Notice the blues--these are river rocks w/ a light skim of water which looked gray in the actual light. Normally I'd have used Provia, but had run out & reverted to a spare roll of NPH. Any comments welcome.

henry_ting2
The bluish hue, is it a characteristic of the NPH ? I think the warmth of autumn foliage and the cool "blue" mix is a contradiction.
erik_l.
Patrick,I too use NPH for portraits...I think there are other films that do this type of image more justice than the NPH. Stick with the Provia for fall shots and NPH for the portraits.
nesrani
I think there's a touch too much blue in the whole image, but you probably simply missed the reflection of the sky when you were looking at the rocks. We tend to filter things out. But of course, you know that ;-)
cd thacker
Is this the new NPH, or the old?
pcg
Doug, this NPH was purchased new in July of 2002.
gary_watson
I'm guessing the sky reflection's contribution of blue is film-independent, since the angle you chose is the more likely culprit. NPH has a place in nature work, particularly when high saturation and contrast aren't welcome. What did you rate your NPH at in this shot?
