Hi all,
I was surfing the bay again and this week and I had to get what seems is
a great condition 3.5E with a planer 3.5 lens. I have to confess the back in the
90's I had a 3.5f whiteface which I sold and after that regret, so I pick this guy
up. The only thing is the latch has a problem and doesn't work and will not close
so I should get it next week. Anyway I want to get a type II hood for it and I see
there's a few difference's so which one to get is the question?

Thanks

What do you mean by "type II hood"?

The following models all use the same lens hood. If a lens hood is advertised for one of these models, it will work on a Rolleiflex 3.5E.

Rolleiflex 3.5E
Rolleiflex 3.5E2
Rolleiflex 3.5E3
Rolleiflex 3.5F
Rollei Magic I
Rollei Magic II

There are Bayonet I, Bayonet II, Bayonet III and Bayonet IV lens hoods from Rollei, as well as some slip-on hoods for early cameras. You are looking for a Bayonet II hood. Rollei made three different Bayonet II hoods, two of which are compatible with the 3.5E. Of the compatible ones, the earlier (pre-1970) one was metal, and the later (post-1970) one was rubber. The other Bayonet II hood from Rollei was a metal one designed for the unique mount of the Rolleiflex 2.8A; it's marked '34 ∅'.
